He’s The Man Tyme After Tyme
Written by Staff Writer on March 15, 2018
Ju$tin Tyme, better known as Tympeace, is an American MC and record label owner. A native of Athens, Alabama, he is a recording artist and the founder of O.N.E. Records.
On the microphone he has been compared to 2Pac, T.I., and NAS. In the business office he has been compared to Sean Combs, Jermaine Dupri, and Master P.
Throughout all of the comparisons, Tympeace remains humble and keeps a good grasp on reality. He fights through the tragedy of loosing two brothers at a young age. Also, he’s dealt with the incarceration of three other brothers and still manages to move forward.
In addition to his record label, Tympeace is looking to expand the boundaries of his talent. He has written a movie and has plans to launch a retail franchise. We got up with Tympeace, and he was nice enough to take Tyme from his schedule to answer our questions:
Who are your musical influences?
Tupac and Scarface taught me substance is the most important factor in Hip Hop. They helped me understand alot, whether it was the storytelling or the analyzing of the game.
What are your long-term career goals?
I’m looking to further diversify in entertainment amongst other things. I have a movie written and I’m looking for investors. I am also finishing plans to launch my retail franchise, the B.O.B.O. Store.
What type of recording process do you use? Who produced your recording?
I’m a simple man. I write to the beat whenever I feel it and record on Pro Tools, for the most part. Ken P of TrunkBangaz Entertainment create the melody for my single #FightingSleep, which will be rereleased to iTunes, Amazon and more, in the coming week.
Do you ever get the chance to perform live?
I performed heavier in the past 5 years, yet not as much, recently, though I’m currently engaging some managers and agents about opening up for acts in my genre. If anyone wants to book me, contact my website TheReallyReal.com.
Are you looking for to remain independent or to get a major label deal? (Why?) In my attempt to control my message, I must remain independent. I can’t fathom the thought of relinquishing my power to create as I please.
If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?
That’s a intriguing question to me. Optimistically thinking, I would love to see us use this energy for uplifting each other and our communities. Realistically speaking, put it like this. I’d never want to force anyone to change. Yet, I’m different, and that’s not a cliche. I find myself becoming better at being me and in part, I have the industry to thank for that. Just like in the streets, when I didn’t know what to do, bad examples always taught me what not to do. Knowledge gained though their mistakes is my wisdom and it gives me motivation because that failure is not an option.
Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?
Know what the business is, what music is worth, and who the best version of you really is. If you don’t live and love to learn those three things, especially who you are, like 8Ball said, it’s all for nothing.
Any thing else you want to say on the people? This is as real and true as it gets so download music and book me today at TheReallyReal.com.
