Don’t You Dare! by Red Tan
The widow and single mom wrote this jam based on her strength and confidence. She looks to inspire the world with her toughness in dealing with setbacks.
We’ve been in contact with Red Tan. She agreed to share a few thoughts with Hits You Love Radio.
What is your music background?
I’m an old soul. I like songs from the 40’s to the 70’s. I grew up listening to jazz and musicals as well.
Who are your musical influences?
Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Lady Gaga, Blackpink and Dua Lipa
What are your long-term career goals?
My goal is to write more songs and perform concerts worldwide.
What type of recording process do you use and who produced your recording?
It was recorded in River Studios Southampton UK. the amazing Luke Adams did the music first and then i added my lyrics into it.
Do you ever get the chance to perform live?
Yes. Looking forward to performing my song “Don’t You Dare” in the near future.
Are you looking for to remain independent or to get a major label deal?
Independent as of the moment. I wanna build myself up first.
If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?
I would like for streaming services to increase payouts to artists.
Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?
If you’re going indie, spend time, effort and money in promoting your music. Not just in making it. Nowadays, you won’t get heard or even get signed if you don’t market your music.
