No Stress by Big$hwave Hits The Chart
Written by Staff Writer on October 1, 2020
This jam packs a bass drum that thumps the speakers nicely. Plus, the background samples are hypnotic.
Meanwhile, the lyrics on this jam are well written and well performed. The rhyme schemes flip well on this jam.
Big$hwave began writing in the seventh grade. He recorded hid first track in 2017. Now, his latest effort is climbing the chart.
We caught up with Big$hwave not too long ago. He was nice enough to answer a few questions for Hits You Love Radio.
What is your music background?
I don’t have much of a musical background other than just being a fan of good music all my life. I started writing music for fun in 7th grade but never recorded anything until 2017.
Who are your musical influences?
I listen to a lot of different artists from all over so my influences are scattered. Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne made me love music initially, but these days it’s so many artists to keep up with and enjoy. To name a few I’m in tune with heavy right now: Lucki, Shawny Bin Laden, Lil Tecca, Cheecho.
What are your long-term career goals?
It may sound a bit weird but I would love to have a cult like fan base sort of like Uzi and Travis Scott’s, minus all the trolling. Seeing that makes me wonder how good it must feel to have people infatuated with you and everything you do. Having the ability to reach and make an impact on people lives is crazy.
What type of recording process do you use and who produced your music?
I record, mix and master all my music at home. I almost never write music anymore, I like to punch in, brainstorm my next 2-4 bars, punch in, repeat. This beat was produced by my boy @Killurbeatsz on IG.
Do you ever get the chance to perform live?
Yea I have a few times but lately with Covid haven’t been looking forward to having any shows soon.
Are you looking to remain independent or would you prefer a major label deal?
I would love to stay independent as long as possible. It seems like the best way to fully enjoy making and releasing music. Doing things on your time is always better in my opinion.
If anything, what would you change about the music industry today?
I would change the normality of having to be popular in some way shape of form before you can be given a chance. People will watch a person video who has 10k followers before someone who has 2k followers. Popularity and talent should never coincide.
Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists?
I would say take the time to really find your lane and sound first. It took me about a year and a half to stop making music that just sounded good to others based on what the current trend of music was. Now I’ll make a song and say things that maybe only me and a select number of people may know the meaning off and not care because it’s my music. I make it for me and the people who come to like it from actually listening not just to say they like it or me.
Anything else you want to say on the people?
I just wanna say Thank You for tuning in if you made it this far and to stay tuned for what’s next.
